View product →Microestil is a professional microcement system manufactured in Spain and distributed in North America by Cadoro. It is designed to create seamless decorative surfaces with very little build thickness and can be used on walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, countertops and properly prepared renovation surfaces.
The finished appearance can range from soft and subtle to highly organic, depending on the product, grain size, application technique, sanding and sealer system.
Microcement can be used in residential and commercial interiors including feature walls, floors, bathrooms, showers, kitchens, fireplaces, retail spaces and furniture. Because the system can often be installed over properly prepared existing substrates, it can also be an excellent option for renovations where removing the original surface would be difficult or disruptive.
Every substrate should be evaluated before installation. Movement, moisture, contamination, cracking and surface preparation can all affect the final result.
Microcement is frequently selected for bathrooms because it creates a continuous finish without conventional grout lines. In showers and other wet areas, however, the decorative microcement should be considered part of a complete installation system.
Appropriate substrate preparation, reinforcement, waterproofing where required, primers, microcement layers and the correct protective sealer all contribute to the performance of the finished surface.
Do not rely on the decorative microcement alone as a substitute for a properly designed waterproofing system.
Microcement can create continuous floors with an organic hand-applied appearance that is very different from tile or poured concrete. Floors require careful preparation and installation because they are subjected to movement, abrasion, furniture, foot traffic and cleaning.
Reinforcement, base coats, finish coats and the final protection system should be selected according to the substrate and intended use of the space.
Microestil includes different base and finish materials that allow installers to control texture, movement and final appearance. Coarser materials can create stronger visual movement while finer materials can produce a softer, tighter finish.
The final look is also influenced by trowel technique, water ratio, timing, sanding and sealer selection. Because microcement is hand applied, subtle variation is part of the character of the finish.
A successful microcement installation is a system rather than a single product. Primers help prepare and regulate the substrate, fiberglass mesh can provide reinforcement where required, and the microcement layers create the decorative surface.
The protective system is selected according to the application. Walls, floors, wet areas and specialty surfaces may require different sealers or protection levels.
Once fully cured, microcement surfaces are generally maintained using mild, non-abrasive cleaners. Avoid harsh chemicals or aggressive scrubbing products unless specifically approved for the protective system used on the project.
Like other decorative architectural finishes, the protective coating may eventually require maintenance or renewal depending on traffic, exposure and cleaning practices.
If you are unsure which Microestil products are required for your project, contact Cadoro before ordering. Tell us the substrate, project type, approximate square footage and whether the surface is a wall, floor, shower or other specialty application.
We can help determine the appropriate primer, base coat, finish coat, reinforcement and sealer system as well as estimate product quantities.
In many renovation situations it can, provided the tile is firmly bonded and the surface is correctly prepared. Joints, movement and substrate condition must be addressed before applying the decorative system.
Yes, Microestil can be incorporated into properly designed shower systems. Waterproofing, substrate preparation and the correct protective sealer are critical components of the installation.
Yes. Floors require the appropriate reinforcement, base system and protective coating for the expected traffic and conditions.
No. Microcement is hand applied. Trowel movement, texture, sanding, batch consistency and application technique all influence the finished appearance.
Coverage depends on the Microestil product, substrate, number of coats and application thickness. Contact Cadoro with your square footage and project details for help calculating quantities.
Shipping is available across Canada and the United States. Need help sizing a project? Contact Cadoro before ordering.
Plan by application

Choose your system and enter the area to cover.
Planning estimate only. Confirm substrate, waterproofing, coat sequence and actual usage. Nano uses Cadoro’s allowance of 1.2 kg per 100 sq ft for two coats, plus 10% allowance. Hidrolaca is applied in 2–3 coats; pack quantities allow for three. Preparation render or adhesive and compatible mesh must be specified separately.
Start with sound, firmly bonded tiles. Clean, mechanically prepare and repair them, then apply the specified cement render or tile adhesive with embedded mesh before P541. No new waterproofing layer is included in this overlay; existing wet-area waterproofing must be sound and suitable.
Follow the build-up from the substrate to the final protective finish. Shown with Nano Matte protection for DecoPast or Plus.
A stable, properly prepared base supports every layer above it.
The shower waterproofing provides the water barrier behind the decorative finish. Cadoro prefers ARDEX 8+9 with mesh reinforcement. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for junctions, drains and reinforcement.
For all wall systems, embed compatible reinforcement mesh in the specified cement render or tile adhesive to prepare a sound, even surface. The wall preparation mesh does not have to be 160 g/m².
The primer prepares the surface for adhesion of the microcement layers. It is not the shower waterproofing.
Floors: embed 160 g/m² mesh in DecoPast Grueso or Plus Grueso. Walls: use DecoPast Base or Plus Base before the selected finish. Waterproofing reinforcement is a separate stage.
Selected Base and finish grades create the colour and texture: DecoPast Base/Fino or Plus Base/Medio/Fino. Extra Fino is for walls only. The sequence depends on the prepared base and desired finish.
The pre-sealer reduces absorption and prepares the microcement for the final protective sealer. It does not replace the protective topcoat.
The final protective finish helps resist surface water, staining and wear. Allow the specified full cure before use. It does not replace the underlying waterproofing.
Confirm the substrate, waterproofing and render or adhesive are compatible with the selected system. Follow the product instructions for preparation, drying between coats and full cure before shower use.
Prime: P541.
Reinforce: embed 160 g/m² mesh in DecoPast Grueso or Plus Grueso on every floor.
Build and finish: choose the specified combination of DecoPast Base and Fino, or Plus Base, Medio and Fino. Base is optional where the prepared Grueso surface permits the selected finish.
Pre-seal: three coats of Hidrolaca.
Protect: 2K Cadoro Nano Sealer, matte, for either system. Extra Fino is reserved for walls.
Kitchen areas: contact Cadoro for a project-specific system. Nano Sealer is not recommended for kitchens.
Prepare: cement render or tile adhesive with embedded compatible mesh for every wall system. The preparation mesh does not need to be 160 g/m².
Prime: two coats of P541.
Two-coat wall options: two coats of DecoPast Base, Plus Base or Plus Medio. Choose one product for the two decorative coats.
Refined finishes: select Base plus the appropriate Fino, Medio or wall-only Extra Fino for the desired texture.
Pre-seal: Hidrolaca, 2–3 coats, then the specified protective sealer.
For shower exposure follow the shower protection specification. Contact Cadoro for kitchen areas.
Wall preparation: cement render or tile adhesive with embedded compatible mesh. No specific 160 g/m² requirement for this preparation mesh.
Prime: P541 on the prepared, approved substrate.
Reinforce: every shower floor uses 160 g/m² mesh embedded in DecoPast Grueso or Plus Grueso. Walls use DecoPast Base or Plus Base before the selected finish.
Build and finish: select DecoPast Base / Fino or Plus Base / Medio / Fino. Extra Fino is a wall-only alternative.
Pre-seal and protect: 2–3 coats of Hidrolaca, then 2K Cadoro Nano Matte for the DecoPast or Plus system.
Breathable alternative: a full DecoPast shower system can use Estilpur 1C Pro in matte, satin or gloss. It provides less protection and needs more frequent resealing. Confirm floor suitability separately; it is not the protection included in the wall-and-floor kits.
The decorative kit does not supply the shower waterproofing, drainage or substrate system.
Kitchen areas: contact Cadoro for a project-specific system. Nano Sealer is not recommended for kitchens.
Prime: P541.
