Authentic Italian Lime Plaster by Cadoro

Create walls with depth, texture and the character of a hand-applied mineral finish. Cadoro’s Italian lime plaster collection brings together finishes for everything from smooth Venetian plaster to textured architectural surfaces.

Made with slaked lime, these materials draw on a long tradition of European craftsmanship. The finished appearance depends on the plaster selected, surface preparation, application technique and final protection—giving each project its own subtle variation and movement.

Find the Right Finish for Your Project

Different plasters create different effects. Choosing the right material starts with the look you want and the surface you plan to finish.

Venetian plaster is often selected for smooth, refined surfaces with layered depth and a polished appearance. Marmorino offers a mineral character that can complement both contemporary and traditional interiors. Intonachino and Travertino provide options for more pronounced texture, while Tadelakt offers a distinctive finish that requires its own application and protection methods.

Explore each product’s description and technical information before ordering. Grain size, coverage, preparation and finishing requirements vary across the collection.

Where Can Italian Lime Plaster Be Used?

Italian lime plaster can bring texture and continuity to residential and commercial interiors, including living rooms, bedrooms, entryways, feature walls, ceilings, retail spaces and hospitality settings.

Range hoods, fireplaces, bathrooms and other specialty applications need additional consideration. Heat exposure, moisture, cleaning requirements and the underlying construction all affect which material and protective finish are appropriate.

Contact Cadoro before selecting a system for a wet area or a surface exposed to heat.

For Homeowners, Designers and Professional Applicators

Cadoro supplies Italian lime plaster to homeowners, interior designers, architects and professional applicators across Canada and the United States.

For designers and architects, plaster offers a way to introduce natural-looking variation and depth into a material palette. For applicators, the collection provides options for different textures and finishing techniques. Experienced DIYers can also explore selected projects with suitable preparation, practice and guidance.

A physical sample is the best starting point for discussing the intended finish with your client or installer.

Colour, Texture and Lighting

Cadoro’s lime plasters are available in a 48-colour system, with product-specific options shown in the collection.

Colour is only one part of the finished result. Texture, trowel movement, burnishing and protective treatments can all influence how a surface appears. Natural and artificial lighting also change the way colour and texture are perceived throughout the day.

Use colour charts to narrow your selection, then assess a sample made with the intended plaster and finishing method. View it in the project’s actual lighting before committing to a larger installation.

Surface Preparation and Application

A beautiful plaster finish begins with a suitable substrate. Surfaces should be sound, clean and prepared for the selected material. Existing coatings, cracks, movement and moisture conditions need to be evaluated before application.

Follow the product’s technical instructions for primers, base coats, application thickness, drying times and finishing steps. A preparation method that suits one plaster or substrate may not suit another.

For larger projects or specialised finishes, working with an experienced applicator can help achieve a consistent result.

Sealers, Waxes and Ongoing Care

Some installations require a protective treatment suited to the plaster and its intended use. Cadoro’s collection includes finishing products such as waxes, soap treatments and sealers, but these products are not interchangeable.

Select protection according to the specific plaster, desired appearance, exposure and maintenance requirements. Protective treatments can change the sheen or colour of a surface, so test the complete finish on a sample first.

For ongoing care, follow the instructions for the installed finish and its protective treatment.
